Hello all...
Almost done with a bash WIP...
just waiting on CVI lift-the-dots, and I need some more broadcloth for my 'scrim'...
The 41st Armored was part of the 2nd Armored...many of these guys were supplied with the US Army two piece HBT camo jacket and trousers (an engineer unit was also issued with this uni) which, apparently, was often mistaken for German camo...but opinions differ as to the reason for the relatively short 'life' of these uniforms in the NW European theatre.
Regardless, the uniform doesn't seem to be used too much after August-September of 1944.
I originally wanted to upgrade the old DML 'Edward', but the old 'Edward' uni was just not 'cut' right...
BattleGear offers an 'Alamo Scout' uniform designed for GI Joe figures, a little shorter than the standard DML nude...
but, since I was going to use leggings, this wouldn't be a hindrance...
I did bleach the uniforms a little to remove some of the starkness of the pattern...
Of course, within a year, DML released a GREAT update of this uniform with the release of 'Hap Daley'...the niceness of this new uniform alloes bashes with the trouser legs 'out'.
This is the BAR man part of the squad (the BAR was modified by removing the bipod and adding a small barrel extension).
Again, I'm waiting on CVI lift-the-dots to improve the 'Wiley' BAR belt (which was darkened with RIT dye).
Thanks for looking,
Bruce
