Here is the previously posted crew with the SST Gun (6-pounder 1841 Field Artillery Gun).
The battery commander, Capt Walker supervising the operation, a sergeant helping the gun’s crew, made up of the gun commander, a corporal, and his three artillerymen.
I prepared some ordnance for the gun. Painted some appropriately sized marbles and also used the marbles, balsa wood, cloth ribbon and some cloth to make the prepared rounds.
Finally an additional series of images, inspired on a period photo of a totally different group, of the captain, sergeant and corporal posing after the artillery demonstration.
In the last images a visiting friend from South Carolina (Lieutenant of B Co. “Palmetto Riflemen” South Carolina 4th Inf. Rgt.) also poses with these men and the artillery piece.
Some wondered how these would look in “sepia” finish.
Thanks to my good friend Juanjo (Kowalski) who is a PhotoShop wiz and prepared these images for me.
